Frequently Asked Questions
What does holistically minded mean?
For us, being holistically minded means supporting the whole kitten through a thoughtful balance of high-quality conventional veterinary care and gentle, supportive practices. (Gentle detox following vaccines.)
We are intentional about the products used in our home and aim to avoid unnecessary or harsh exposures whenever possible.
We place a strong emphasis on proper nutrition, a low-stress home environment, and complementary care that supports overall health and development, helping our kittens grow up healthy and well-balanced.
Are your cats & kittens registered?
Yes, our cats and litters are registered with CFA!

What if I don't live
locally?
We do not ship kittens by cargo. Families who live outside our local area may choose to pick up at the Kansas City airport, or we can discuss the possibility of personal delivery when it works with the season, the needs of our current litters, and my family’s schedule. Delivery pricing depends on your location and any travel or flight costs involved.
If you plan to fly in to pick up your kitten, they must travel in the cabin with you.

What do you feed your cats & kittens?
We feed a balanced combination of high quality foods, including Ziwi Peak air dried and steam and dried recipes, Ziwi Peak wet food, and Midwest Legacy Cat Food raw diets.
Our cats and kittens are offered a variety of proteins, including venison, lamb, beef, chicken, and rabbit. Providing this variety helps support balanced nutrition, allows us to identify any potential sensitivities, and encourages kittens to be less selective eaters as they grow.
We also incorporate both wet and dry foods so our kittens are well adjusted to different textures and feeding routines, making the transition to their new homes smoother.
Do you offer in-home visits?
We do not offer in-home visits in order to protect the health of our cats and young kittens. We share regular photos and videos with families.
A virtual visit is required for kitten reservations and subsequent virtual visits are available upon request!
What kind of litter and litter boxes do you use?
Our kittens are introduced to a variety of litter boxes and litter brands to ensure an easier transition into their new home.
We have a Neakasa litter robot and XL stainless steel boxes with various covers. We use Catalyst, pine pellets, and World's Best Cat Litters.
Are your kittens well socialized?
Our kittens are raised in our home. They have constant interaction with myself, my husband, and our children in addition to visits from friends and family!
See our Happy Homes section for family testimonials!
Do you have a waitlist?
We do not maintain a traditional first come, first served waitlist. Instead, we keep an interest list of families who have submitted an application and would like to be considered for upcoming litters.
We encourage you to complete an application and subscribe to our email list so you can stay informed about planned litters and available kittens.
Priority is given to returning Marne River families. When placing kittens, we thoughtfully match each one based on temperament, personality, and the needs of the home, rather than the order in which applications are received.
Our goal is to ensure that every kitten is placed in the best possible home and that each family is matched with the right kitten for them.
When do your kittens go to their new home?
Kittens typically go home around 14-15 weeks of age. The exact date depends on the individual health and needs of each kitten to ensure that each kitten is ready for the transition to their new home.
